Bij docent Engels mevrouw Roovers werden in klas V3B en H3D wedstrijden Halloween-verhalen gehouden. Ter lering en vermaak hierbij de winnende verhalen uit beide klassen.

V3B : The ghost in the basement
Behind the door, I heard endless tapping. It wouldn’t stop and the sound was irritating me. I was working in the basement on my latest project and couldn’t concentrate with this noise.
I opened the door slowly, but there was nothing there. Then I heard a strange noise coming from behind me. I turned around, but again I saw nothing.
A voice whispered in my ear and said: “mad scientist, do you know who I am?”
There was nobody around me, so who whispered in my ear? The lights went off and I became terrified of what was happening. I ran towards the door, but the door was locked, the voice whispered again: “Do you know who I am?”
I searched the whole room, there was nothing.
The lights went back on and I could see a shadow standing in the right corner of the basement. It slowly came near me and I tried to open the door, but it didn’t work.
“Who are you?” It didn’t answer me. I grabbed a knife that was laying on my desk. I tried to attack the shadow, but I couldn’t hit it. My knife went right through the shadow. The shadow stepped into the light and I could see it. It looked like me.
“You know who I am”.
Who could it be? It looked like me, so could it be me?!
“Are you me?”
It didn’t answer and I saw a hover standing next to me. I grabbed it as fast as I could and put it on. The ghost got trapped in the hover, but a picture fell on the floor.
Then I knew who the ghost was. It was my dead father and he left me a picture of him and me when we were in the hospital. The picture was taken a day before he died…

Cold and wet, I tried to make my way home, but I couldn’t find my home. I was lost.
I started walking for a couple of minutes. After 5 minutes I found a cave in the middle of nowhere. I decided to go in and explore. After a couple of minutes a lot of rocks fell at the entrance which blocked the entrance.
I ran to the entrance and checked to see if there was a way to get out, but there wasn’t. I decided to walk further into the cave and explore. There were a lot of insects and spider webs.
Then I, Kayleigh, fell into a hole and was stuck. I couldn’t get out. I heard a roaring sound and that sound got closer and closer. So close that I heard footsteps.
And I finally got out, but then I saw something with shiny green eyes. It was the biggest bear I have ever seen. I started to run but it was pointless, the bear was way faster.
I, Kayleigh, fell down and BANG … 10 years later, the same body remains still at the same spot as it did 10 years ago…
